This is Early Times Bottled-in-Bond, a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 1 litre bottle at 100 proof, or 50% ABV. The brand traces its methods back to 1860.
As a bottled-in-bond whiskey it was distilled, aged and bottled by a single distiller in one distillation season, and matured for at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse.
The nose is sweet corn, honey, vanilla and caramelised oak. The palate has toasted grain, light cinnamon, brown sugar and a touch of pepper. The finish is smooth, warming and slightly dry, with hints of oak and vanilla bean.
