Ed Gwenn is a single grain whisky from Distillerie des Menhirs in Brittany, made for the Eddu range from 100% Breton barley and distilled in a column still. It matured for more than four years in French and American oak and is bottled at 45% without colouring or chill filtration.
The name means white grain in Breton, a change for a range traditionally built on buckwheat.
The nose is fresh, with pineapple, mango and passion fruit. The palate is supple and creamy, with pear, lychee and peach, and the finish is soft and fruity with floral, woody and lightly spicy touches.
