A Premier Cru red wine from the southernmost part of the Beaune AOC, neighbouring Pommard's Les Petites Epenots on the same marl and limestone subsoil. Fermentation was spontaneous with the grapes' own yeasts and with few punch-downs. The wine then matured for 13 months in classic Burgundy barrels of 228 litres, one to three years old, before bottling after natural settling and without filtration.
It has a bright ruby-red colour. The wine is suited to game birds, duck, lamb and veal, and also to white or red mould cheeses.
Tasting Notes
redcurrant, raspberry, cherry and white pepper
soft and rounded, developing darker and spicier notes with aeration
harmonious, pure and elegant, well packed with fruit tones
