El Tequileno Barrel Select Añejo is a tequila from Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, produced by Tequilera El Tequileño from 100% Blue Weber agave. The piñas are slow-roasted in traditional ovens, then fermented with high-quality yeast and double distilled in copper stills. It rests in carefully chosen oak barrels, typically ex-bourbon or seasoned American oak, to develop vanilla, toasted oak and spice while keeping the agave character. It is bottled at 40% ABV. The nose brings toasted oak, vanilla bean, caramelised agave, cinnamon, honey and citrus peel. The palate is smooth and layered with vanilla, butterscotch, oak spice, caramel, roasted agave, almond and toasted coconut. The finish is medium-long with oak warmth, gentle spice and sweet agave.
