Don Julio 1942 is an añejo tequila produced in Jalisco, Mexico, by Don Julio, honouring the year 1942 when founder Don Julio González began his tequila journey. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Jalisco highlands and aged for a minimum of 2.5 years in American white oak barrels. It is produced in small batches and bottled in a distinctive tall bottle with engraved 1942 on the neck. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is intended as a premium sipping tequila, best served neat.
Tasting Notes
Rich vanilla, caramel, chocolate, warm oak and roasted agave.
Warm oak and vanilla lead, with roasted agave, touches of tropical fruit, soft spice and nutty undertones.
Lingering oak, rich vanilla and soft caramel, smooth and elegant.
