Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

This is an 18 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Elijah Craig, bottled from a single barrel hand-selected by the master distillers rather than from a mingling of many barrels. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The brand takes its name from Rev. Elijah Craig, who is credited with discovering the method of making Kentucky bourbon by storing his wares in barrels charred in a fire. The nose offers aged oak, spiced vanilla, mint and chocolate. The palate is richly textured, nutty and semisweet, with honey giving way to toasted wood and a pleasant char. The finish is lively and lingers with vanilla and pepper.
