Emperors Way - Imperial Abbey is Batch 002 of the Emperors Way series from Hercynian Distilling, bottled under the Elsburn name. This German single malt was matured in first-fill sherry casks and bottled in 2024 at 48%, without chill-filtering or added colour. The outturn is 3,456 bottles. The series was created as a tribute to historic trade routes. The nose has strong sherry notes with dark fruit, raisins and a touch of spice. The palate is full and rich, with chocolate, dried fruit and subtle oak. The finish is long and warming, with fine spice and hints of vanilla.
