Elsburn The Distillery Edition 2023 is a single malt from the Elsburn distillery in the Harz region of Germany, in a 70cl bottle at 45.9% ABV. This is Batch 004, limited to 3,264 bottles.
The whisky matured in first fill sherry casks: half PX, a quarter Palo Cortado and a quarter Oloroso. It is bottled without added colour or chill-filtering.
The nose is typically described as raisins, mandarin, peach, tea cake and candied fruit, with spice, oak and toffee behind. The palate brings fruity raisin cake, vanilla, caramel and baking spices. The finish is medium in length, with fine oak and a hint of prune.
