Espolòn Añejo is a tequila from Los Altos, Jalisco, distilled from 100% Blue Weber agave at Destilería San Nicolás under Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is aged for 12 months in new American oak, then spends time in ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose is roasted agave, vanilla, toffee and baking spice with caramelised oak and a little cocoa. The palate is velvety, with butterscotch, roasted fruit, dark chocolate and agave sweetness. The finish is long, with vanilla bean, cinnamon and caramel.
