This is Chapter 8, 'Fairies', from Fable Whisky, an independent single cask bottler that pairs each of its malts with a chapter of an illustrated story. It is a 12 year old Teaninich, bottled at 56.4%. Teaninich is in Alness, in the North Highlands. Its spirit is typically described as grassy and exotic, with elegant flavours and a full, oily mouthfeel. Maturation in American oak suits it well, and refill casks in particular show off its elegant side. The fairies of the Clanyard Bay story are matched to this delicate, subtle malt.
