Fercullen 8 Year Old Irish Whiskey (70cl, 40%)

Fercullen 8 Year Old is a blended Irish whiskey from Powerscourt Distillery, which sits on a historic estate at the base of the Wicklow Mountains. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The whiskey spent eight years in ex-bourbon casks under Master Distiller Noel Sweeney, formerly of Cooley, and is blended for smoothness while keeping some structure. The nose is fresh and gentle, with honeycomb, vanilla, green apple and a little wood spice. On the palate come toffee, grain sweetness and light citrus over creamy oak. The finish is clean, with a soft malted barley note.
