Fercullen Single Cask 5 Year Old Madeira Finish (70cl, 57.2%)

A five-year-old Irish single malt distilled at Powerscourt Distillery in County Wicklow, bottled from a single cask at cask strength, 57.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky matured for five years, around 20 months of which were spent in a single Madeira cask. The edition is limited to 260 bottles. On the nose there are marzipan, ripe grain, juicy apricots and roasted hazelnuts. The palate brings dark chocolate, sweet raisins, orange jelly and a gentle spice, leading to a long, fruity and spicy finish.
