Fettercairn – 14 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Fettercairn 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% ABV as a travel retail release. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky spends all fourteen years in ex-bourbon barrels of American white oak, which lets the fresh, tropical fruit style of Fettercairn come through. The copper cooling ring on the stills, with water running over the outside of the neck, helps produce a lighter spirit. The nose shows tropical and ripe orchard fruit with blossom honey, brioche and gentle sweet spice. On the palate come ripe pineapple, vanilla, light cocoa and cinnamon. The finish holds spiced apricots, toffee, roasted almonds and sweet baking spices.
