Fettercairn 16 Year Old 1st Release is a single malt from Scotland, bottled at 46.4%. It was released in June 2020 as a core bottling for the distillery and was its first release of that year.
It is made with chocolate malted barley, a heavily malted type, and matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon casks of American oak. For the last two years of maturation it moved into sherry and port casks. It is the first in a series of 16-year-old single malts from the brand.
