This is a 16 year old Highland single malt from Fettercairn, in a 70cl bottle at 46.4% abv. The distillery was founded in 1824 and was among the first to apply for a licence.
The whisky matures in American white oak casks and is finished in selected ex-port and sherry casks, giving an amber, honeyed colour.
The nose offers vanilla, ginger and ripe grapes. The palate is soft, with peach, caramel, banana and chocolate. The finish is silky, with a round sweetness in the background.
