This is an older distillery bottling of Old Fettercairn, a 10 year old Highland single malt bottled at 40% ABV in the early 1990s. It is gold in colour.
The nose starts with cream and barley, then grainy, malty and porridgy notes with white peach and orange. It turns perfumed, with lilac and a hint of lavender, and slightly milky, but stays fresh.
The palate has plenty of body: malt, dried figs and raisins, toasted bread and brioche, a little praline and milk chocolate, with vanilla and apple pie. The finish is medium long, malty and a little toffeeish, with a fresh edge.
