This is a 15 year old Fettercairn, a Highland single malt distilled on 1 November 1989 and bottled on 18 September 2006. It was matured in white oak and bottled at a cask strength of 64% ABV.
The nose is dry and rustic, with dusty oak boards, grain mash, old books, lemon peel, medicinal herbs and a little dry hay. The palate is powerful, with sweet cream, heated oak, cappuccino, toffee and milk chocolate over mineral tones. The finish is spicy, with pipe tobacco, chocolate and a woody creaminess.
