Fettercairn 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt, released annually in limited numbers and bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent its early years in first-fill and refill ex-bourbon American white oak casks, then was finished in casks made from 100% Scottish oak sourced from three forests. The finish is part of the distillery's Scottish Oak Programme and adds spice and structure. The whisky is unpeated.
The nose offers sugared almonds, passion fruit, guava and baking spices. On the palate come syrupy exotic fruit, patisserie sugar, brioche and warm spice, and the finish carries cacao and natural vanilla.
