Fettercairn Warehouse 2 - Batch 2 (70cl, 48.5%)

Fettercairn Warehouse 2 - Batch 2 is the second release in the distillery's Warehouse Collection, which bottles small batches from casks kept in its traditional Highland warehouses. It was distilled in 2009, matured only in Warehouse No. 2 until 2021, and bottled at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was aged in a mix of first-fill rye casks (38%) and first-fill bourbon casks (62%). Rye casks are not often seen in Scotch whisky production. The release is limited to 6,000 bottles. The nose offers cinnamon buns, honeycomb and soft cedar. Maple syrup, candied orange peel, cinnamon, ginger and aniseed follow on the palate, and drying cocoa appears in the finish while the citrus stays constant.
