Fettercairn – Warehouse 2 Batch No. 3 (50.6%)

Fettercairn Warehouse 2 Batch No. 3 is a limited bottling of 9,600 bottles, distilled in 2015 and bottled at 50.6%. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks (57%), rum casks (16%) and French red wine barriques (27%), chosen from Warehouse 2, where high humidity and a relatively cool, temperate climate shape the maturing spirit. It shows the tropical house style of the distillery, which comes from its copper cooling ring distillation, with a touch of soft, sweet spice. The strength was set higher to bring out the heavier influence of the red wine casks and to give depth to that tropical character.
