Floki Distillers Choice Double Wood is an Icelandic single malt from Eimverk, a limited original bottling at 45% in a 50cl bottle, bottled in 2026. It has no added colouring.
The malted barley is smoked over burning sheep dung, a traditional Icelandic method long used to preserve food and heat homes. The whisky matures in two types of wood and is finished in a cask of Icelandic birch, which adds a resinous note.
The nose is earthy, with dried straw and seaweed, light citrus and smoke, tree resin and dried flowers. The palate pairs lime and lemon must acidity with sweet roasted barley malt, white pepper, ashy smoke and black tea. The finish is long, malty and balanced, with a sour note, light earthy smoke and a touch of straw.
