Four Roses – Bourbon (70cl, 40%)

Four Roses Bourbon is the standard bourbon from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It uses a high-rye mashbill with several yeast strains, and is made from ten distinct recipes. The nose is soft and floral, with honeyed grain, red apple and fresh biscuit, then dried rose petals, light caramel and a little clove. On the palate there is vanilla custard, stone fruit and peppery rye, with orange zest, nutmeg and dry oak. The finish is short to medium, with vanilla pod, apple peel and soft cinnamon.
