A Kentucky straight bourbon and rye blend from Frank August, made from seven barrels and sold in a 75cl bottle. It is finished in Calvados, Martinique rhum and Caribbean rum casks, bringing French and Caribbean influences to an American whiskey.
The nose has baked apple, pear compote, stone fruit, toasted coconut and vanilla cream, with molasses and caramelised banana beneath. On the palate, ripe orchard fruit, brûléed sugar, dark molasses and baked pineapple come first, then clove, cinnamon and cracked pepper from the rye. The finish is long, with brown sugar, dried tropical fruit, baking spice and citrus peel.
