Fujikai 10 Year Old is a Japanese malt whisky, matured for ten years in first-fill Bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% in a 50cl bottle. The name comes from Kai province at the foot of Mount Fuji, where the Monde Shuzo distillery stands.
On the nose it is peaty and spicy, with musk, vanilla, thyme and shochu alongside a little iodine. The palate brings dried herbs, walnut, green apple and a touch of black pepper, with a faint diesel-like undertone, and the finish is dry.
