A koji whisky from Fukano Whisky, made in Hitoyoshi, Japan. This is the edition for 2022/2023, with 5,670 bottles released worldwide.
It is a blend aged in refill White Oak, Manzanilla sherry and French red wine casks.
The nose has sugared plums and mulberry with fresh rain, powdered baking spices and a hint of root vegetable sweetness. The palate brings cherry blossom, waxed honeysuckle and orchard fruit, then delicate citrus oils, toasted macadamia, butterscotch and tropical fruit skins. The finish is soft and creamy with spice, ripe plantain and dried wine, fading to semi-sweet white chocolate-covered cherry.
