G4 Reposado Tequila (40%)

G4 Reposado is a reposado tequila from the G4 line, made at El Pandillo Distillery in Jesús María, Los Altos, Jalisco. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, cooked for about 22 hours in stone ovens and crushed using a tahona. The agave is distilled twice in copper stills. Water comes from a mix of collected rainwater and spring water. The tequila is aged for about six months in used bourbon barrels and, in some sets, very old George Dickel Tennessee whiskey barrels. It offers cooked agave, oak, vanilla and spice, and is approachable yet nuanced. The nose shows strong cooked agave, oak, black pepper, heat, vanilla, caramel, citrus, licorice and vegetal or mineral notes. The palate keeps agave forward, balanced with oak and vanilla, with black pepper and warm spice more subdued than on the nose. The finish is smooth, with warm spice lingering and soft oak influence.
