George Dickel Rye (1L, 45%)

George Dickel Rye is an American rye whisky from Tennessee, bottled at 45% ABV in a one-litre bottle. George Dickel moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1853 and ran a whisky wholesale business there. In 1870 he produced his first whisky, deliberately using the Scottish spelling in the belief that he was making whisky of the same quality. In 1888 he acquired the right to bottle and market all of the whisky from the Cascade Distillery. The business had to close completely in 1919 because of national Prohibition. After 1933 there were frequent changes of ownership, sales and mergers, and the brand now belongs to Diageo.
