George Remus Single Barrel Cask Strength Indiana Bourbon (75cl, 57.1%)

A single barrel, cask strength Indiana bourbon from George Remus, released annually in three mash bills, each with its own high-proof character. The barrels are chosen by participating retailers at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, so no two selections taste quite alike. The nose is sweet vanilla, caramel, cedar, leather and rye spice, with a strong note of alcohol. The palate is sweet, with rye, caramel, oak and char. The finish is long with a fairly strong burn, but also a rich sweetness like Demerara sugar, and subtle cedar and rye behind the heat, with some barrel char.
