This is a 43-year-old single cask Glen Albyn, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2023 for Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection. The Glen Albyn distillery in the Highlands closed in 1983. Cask 3857 gave a bottling at 56.4% ABV.
The nose offers ripe fruit, honey and vanilla, with herbs, spice and old oak. The palate is full and concentrated, with ripe fruit, sweet spice, nuts and refined wood. The finish is long and dry, with fruit sweetness, spices and oak.
