This is a Highland single malt from Glen Garioch Distillery in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, in a 75cl bottle. It celebrates John Manson, who founded the distillery in 1797, and is a non-peated whisky with no age statement.
It matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks and is bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration.
The nose brings green apple, yellow pear, lemon zest, floral honey, vanilla and toasted malt. The palate is full and creamy, with poached pear, buttered brioche, orange marmalade and soft cinnamon and clove. The finish is medium to long, with malted barley, dry oak and citrus peel.
