Founder's Reserve is a Highland single malt from Glen Garioch, a distillery in Old Meldrum founded in 1797. Bottled unfiltered at 48% in a 70cl bottle, it is the entry point to the distillery's range.
The whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
The nose is sweet vanilla and butterscotch with a little oak, alongside green apple and grapefruit. The palate opens sweet, with buttercream and vanilla, then fresh citrus and green apple. The finish is fresh, soft and fairly long.
