This Glen Grant single malt was distilled in 1948 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2006, at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It comes in a wooden box with a certificate of authenticity.
Fruity sherry notes and bitter wood shape its character, alongside citrus, leather, polish and a faint touch of smoke. The body is light and fairly slim.
The nose offers jammy fruit, mild sherry and cedar wood, with vanilla, honey, old leather and shoe polish. On the palate it is soft, with ripe fruit, citrus, pepper and bitter orange marmalade, and the wood grows firmer the longer it stays in the mouth. The finish is long, bringing back sherry, white pepper and wood.
