This Glen Grant was distilled on 26 January 1952 and matured for seven decades in a single first-fill sherry butt, cask 381. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 6 February 2022 for the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, on the anniversary of her accession. The cask gave 256 bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.3%, without chill-filtration or added colour. The release was accompanied by a donation of 20,000 pounds to Trees for Life through the Queen's Green Canopy initiative. The nose opens with beeswax polish, then honey, ripe figs, toffee and orange peel, with aged leather, rum and raisins. On the palate come stewed blackberries, sweet clementine and milk chocolate, then dried tobacco leaf and a little menthol. The finish is long, with light smoke and a touch of pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
