A single-cask Glen Grant distilled on 7 February 1966 and matured in a sherry hogshead until it was bottled on 14 July 2016, fifty years later. Signatory Vintage chose it for the Rare Reserve within its Cask Strength Collection. The cask gave 108 numbered bottles at 54.6%, undiluted, not chill-filtered and uncoloured.
The whisky is not smoky. Honey and tropical fruit meet spicy, menthol notes. The nose is led by acacia, heather and manuka honey; on the palate, mango and flambéed banana join pepper and tobacco. The long finish is marked by citrus.
