This is an 18 year old Glen Grant from North Star, bottled at 56.1%. It was distilled in March 2008 and bottled in March 2026, in an edition of 184 bottles. The whisky matured in a refill hogshead and then spent 19 months finishing in an Oloroso sherry cask.
The nose offers shortbread, pistachio, raisins, orange peel and walnuts, with light oak and a touch of spice and vanilla. The palate is creamy and full, with green apples, dried fruit, cocoa, Oloroso sweetness and warming spice. The finish is very long, with sweet cashews, dried fruit, spice and oak, and a light bitterness that gives balance.
