This is a 16 year old Glen Grant from 2009, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range, a series that puts the focus on individual casks and how they have shaped the spirit.
Sherry influence runs through the tasting notes. The nose is soft, with fruitcake, nutmeg, ripe apple and milk chocolate. On the palate come orange marmalade, stewed summer berries and a hint of coffee bean, alongside gentle oak spice. The finish is medium, with lingering warm citrus and subtle oak.
