This is a 28 year old Speyside single malt from Glen Grant, distilled in 1972 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask number 9.30, in a 50cl bottle.
It is dark amber in colour. The nose is rich in prunes, fruitcake, sangria, dried figs, orange cake and strawberry jam, with a little smoke, gunpowder and mint.
The palate is very fruity, with dried and a few overripe fruits and a strong note of figs. The finish is long and fig-like, with a little more spice.
