This is a 38-year-old Glen Grant, a Speyside single malt bottled in the 1970s by Gordon & MacPhail. It was released for the semi-licensed range of bottlings now known as the Distillery Labels series. The whisky was matured entirely in sherry. It comes from a small batch, and the bottler's label belongs to the independent bottling tradition rather than to the distillery's own releases. It is described as waxy and richly fruity, with a subtle peatiness. Quince, spices, rancio and old pipe tobacco are among the finer notes picked out in it.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
