Glen Grant – 70 Year Old 1954 Dram Takers Collection Refill Sherry Hogshead

This Glen Grant is a Speyside single malt that matured for 70 years in a refill sherry hogshead, from distillation in 1954 until bottling in 2024 by Gordon & MacPhail. Only 66 bottles were filled. It belongs to the Dram Takers Collection, whose design takes its inspiration from the Book of Kells. The nose is dark sherry with menthol, orange and grapefruit, and tobacco and leather in the background. On the palate, powerful sherry and dark chocolate meet old oak and a little pepper. The long finish is led by tanned leather and fine tobacco.
