This is a 50 year old Glen Mhor from the Highlands, distilled on 9 December 1965 and bottled by Signatory Vintage on 11 January 2016 for its Rare Reserve in the Cask Strength Collection. It matured first in a refill butt, then spent a further seven years and four months in an Oloroso sherry cask. It was bottled at 47.1% from cask 3934, giving 353 numbered bottles of 70cl, with no colouring added. The nose offers sweet raisins, old leather, almonds, truffle, polished oak and mint, with earthy, savoury notes of beef broth and a touch of soy sauce. The palate is dense, with sherry, toffee, dark chocolate, figs, aniseed, coffee, allspice and tobacco. The long finish recalls cigar boxes and dry oak, with paraffin and wax.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
