This is a 50-year-old Glen Mhor from the Highlands, bottled by Signatory Vintage in its Rare Reserve range in January 2016. It comes at 47.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from a distillery that closed in 1983. The whisky was distilled on 9 December 1965 and matured first in a refill butt, then given an 88-month finish in a fresh Oloroso sherry cask. The release came to 353 bottles. On the nose, sweet raisins, old leather and truffle sit alongside mint and polished oak. The palate brings dark fruit and sherry spice with chocolate and aged wood. The finish is very long, with dried fruit, oak and a dry spiciness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
