This is a single cask Glen Mhor from the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection, made at a Highland distillery that closed in 1983. It was distilled on 20 January 1982 and spent four decades in a refill sherry hogshead before bottling in March 2022.
It was bottled at 50.8% ABV without colouring or chill-filtration. Just 174 bottles were filled, each 70cl and supplied in a wooden box.
The nose has prominent oak, dark fruit, sweet baking spices, menthol and fine citrus. On the palate, sour cherry and cinnamon meet honey, lemon cake, dark chocolate, leather and aged oak. The finish is long and spicy, with nutmeg and lingering oak.
