Glen Moray – 2008 (53.5%)

This Glen Moray 2008 is a Speyside single malt bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 53.5%. Glen Moray stands west of Elgin in a former brewery, converted into a distillery in 1897. It spent some of its early years closed, was bought by new owners in the 1920s and was expanded in 1958. The nose offers banana milkshake, ice-cream chocolate and marzipan, with cherry and apricot arriving over time. The palate has dried banana and sweet wheat, with waves of vanilla pod, sweet oak and grain. The finish is long, with cocoa, rice pudding and fruit salad.
