Glen Moray 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the Elgin distillery, bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is matured in two stages: first in ex-bourbon barrels, then in Portuguese Port wine casks for a finishing period. The bourbon casks give a vanilla and honey base, while the Port casks add dark fruit and tannic depth.
The nose brings ripe plums, blueberry scones, vanilla, golden cane sugar and crystallised ginger. The palate is honeyed, with cherry liqueur, coconut, marzipan, dark fruit, caramel and milk chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with deepening chocolate, raisins, liquorice and slightly tannic oak.
