This is an original distillery bottling of Glen Ord, a 12 year old northern Highland single malt bottled in the early 1990s at 40% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was produced while the distillery belonged to John Dewar & Sons, before the Dewar's brand was sold to Bacardi in 1998. The name comes from the Mackenzie clan motto. It has since been discontinued. The whisky was matured for 12 years in sherry oak casks. The nose opens with winy notes that move to sweeter plummy fruit, oily orange peel and rich caramel toffee. The palate is smooth and cooling, with preserved plums, ginger, sweet malt and late toasted coconut. The finish brings fruit, toasted malt, cocoa and cool mint.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
