Glen Ord is a Highland distillery located on the Black Isle, A peninsula named after its rich, dark and fertile soil. Thomas MacKenzie founded Glen Old in 1838. Completely self sufficient with its malt needs which makes it one in just a handful of distilleries that have that capacity. The managers dram as the name suggests should be a fine dram to satisfy the manager and thus this whisky does just that. Melon, ginger, fermented sourdough and a touch of vanilla is the noses' greeting and the melon retains in the tastes and is joined by lemon, grapefruit and barley syrup just to be replaced slightly with a ginger undertone and bitter almond.
