This is an 18 year old single malt from the Glen Scotia distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was aged first in American oak casks, then given a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. It comes in a golden presentation box.
The whisky balances fruity sweetness with a classic Campbeltown saltiness.
The nose offers honey, vanilla, sultanas with old rum, sea breeze and a touch of cherry. On the palate, orange and lemon peel lead into dried fruit, salted caramel, mature oak and black tea. The finish brings ginger, milk chocolate, oatcakes and raisin.
