Glen Scotia – Double Cask Bordeaux Red Wine Finish (46%)

This is a Glen Scotia single malt Scotch whisky from Campbeltown, bottled at 46% ABV. It matures first in first-fill bourbon casks, which bring out the maritime character of the distillery along with the sweetness of American oak. It then spends nine months in Bordeaux wine casks, which add red berry fruit, oak and tannins. The nose has strawberry, vanilla, peppery spice, oyster shell and coffee fudge, with a touch of raspberry and coconut. On the palate come strawberry jam, vanilla icing, baking spices, seaweed, salted caramel biscuits and black pepper. The finish brings beach barbecue, red berries, salt, cinnamon and caramel.
