This is a 14 year old Glen Spey single malt, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2023 by The Whisky Cellar as part of its Pintail series. The label shows a pintail duck.
It matured first in American hogsheads, then was finished in a French barrique that had held Loupiac white wine. It comes from a single cask, number 12031, which gave 315 bottles.
The nose is beeswax and light honeycomb honey, with dried grass and a little citrus. The palate brings apple pie, ripe peaches, sultanas, creamy vanilla and a hint of violets. The finish is long, with a silky almond oil texture and peppery toasted oak.
