This is a 20 year old Glen Spey from A.D. Rattray's Cask Collection, in a single sherry butt. The whisky was distilled on 6 December 1997 and bottled on 26 September 2018, with 556 bottles filled from the cask.
The nose is delicate, with quince, a little thyme, vanilla and almonds. The palate is spicy and tingling, with green apple, peach and a hint of tarragon, and the typical sherry tones are absent. The finish brings a touch of exotic fruit together with Mediterranean herbs.
